Day 13 - St Andrews and the Alfred Dunhill Golf Tournament

Today started off very wet. We had another great breakfast and headed out into the rain to catch a bus to Waverly Station.

Waverly station is huge and we had to find platform 16. We found it surprisingly easily and settled into the first class car for the one hour trip to Leuchars and then we took a taxi from there to St Andrews. People were lined up for the bus and the taxi was only £4 more. It was far more comfortable, kept us out of the rain and dropped us right at the door of our B&B.

The bed and breakfast is fantastic and only about a two minute walk to the 18th green of the St Andrews Old Course. The Alfred Dunhill Tournament is finishing today and as we were heading out the door to see if we could see anything from behind the barricades a golfer, who had missed the cut for today, handed us his two unused passes. We stood for about an hour and a half about 15 feet off the back of the 18th green right up against the picket fence. Unfortunately there is a no cameras or phones rule while the tournament is on.

We had another great fish an chips supper, picked up some wine and cheese and headed back to our room. It is only 6:21 here but we are both exhausted. I may just have a nap.
